Wheel Of Time Movie

The Wheel of Time series, by Robert Jordan, deserves to be made into movies.

It looks like the core story could be told in six movies - the prequel "New Spring" and five more movies dealing with the Dragon Reborn. Spin offs could also be considered (Aiel War, etc.)

I'd like to open up a discussion on how a movie series could be adapted as close as possible to Robert Jordan's core story.

A discussion about developing books into a movie series could easily generate multiple projects or more specific topics:

1. Another topic could contain custom areas for what each movie needs to contain.
2. Projects to crowdsource/crowdfund production could follow each proposed movie.
3. "Draft a Candidate" projects could launch for potential stars, directors, etc.
4. A "Campaign" project could launch to petition the owner(s) of the rights to cooperate with projects (from #2).
5. Storyboards and even screenplays for each film can be crowdsource.

Making this series into movies could be a great crowdinvestment fan project. The size and scope of the project would likely scare major studios since the viewer base is untested. It would be hard for major studios to put in the resources that the films would deserve until a film was successful and it would be hard for a film to be successful unless the studio had massive investment and promotion...

Fans would likely respond to a chance to be part of movie production regardless of the profit and cost potentials.
