Crowdsourcing

iDrafted.org is designed to capture and amplify the power of Crowdsourcing:

People with common interests + working toward a common goal = unlimited potential

From a practical perspective, most short-term crowdsourced answers/results are only correct about 2/3 of the time on average (with correct results commonly varying between 1/2 and 3/4 of the time). With that in mind, single results from crowdsourcing are much less valuable than results that are refined repeatedly; i.e. a single results may be flat out wrong but each refinement step almost certainly makes the result closer to a "truth".

The combination of crowdsourcing and crowdfunding dramatically amplifies the potential of the individual to make changes or achieve personal goals by joining others or drawing attention (via social media) to issues or projects.

Imagine that you absolutely love a show that has a small "cult" following like Jericho, Freaks and Geeks, Futurama, Firefly, or Joan of Arcadia. We now live in a time where fans could band together, crowdfund a production company, and buy rights to that show (and continue to make it as an independent series or create a movie project/series); the show could easily live on via existing streaming services and eventually crowdsourced/crowdfunded services specializing in distribution/promotion...

The idea may never move beyond subsidizing a favorite show to keep it available longer but there is also the potential for fans to impact the direction of the show and for them to eventually make a profit by supporting something they love.

The same concept extends into hobbies, books, inventions/innovations, business ideas, et cetera. Feel free to post proposals for "dream" crowdsourcing projects below.

*a core goal of iDrafted is development of an organic crowdsourcing/crowdfunding engine to make "dream" projects a reality (by giving people the tools to unite behind, discuss, contribute to, and promote projects in the way that suits them).

A section for crowdsourced fan fiction would be nice.
